2021 Edition

Success in the fifth edition of the Crom Ride Girona!

On the 3rd and 4th of July 2021, the Crom Ride was celebrated once again, reaching a new record: more than 750 motorcyclists enjoyed an excellent choice of roads that covered more than 500km along the province of Girona creating the perfect relationship between curves and smiles.

Following all the guidelines of the health authorities, on Friday, July 3, about 850 participants were expected in the Village in the Fontajau Pavilion to be able to collect the accreditations, the numbers and the welcome pack. Equipped with a bar service to cool off and reduce the effects of the heat, the Village was populated by the leading brands of motorcycles and accessories in the motorcycle sector. The sponsors and collaborators of the Crom Ride 2021 were able to make its deployment, providing information and gifts to participants, product exhibitions, and testing of new motorcycle models on the market. Among the motorcycle brands that have opted for this fifth edition of the Crom Ride are Honda, Harley-Davidson, MotoGuzzi, Macbor, Benelli, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Fantic, Suzuki and Kawasaki. Once again, the Catalan Traffic Service, in collaboration with Anesdor, taught its monitored Safety 3.0 training and driving courses.

With the bike as the protagonist of the event, the Village made it possible to create a space for advice and maintenance on the bike: the main sponsor of the event, Metzeler, changed the tires; Galfer was in charge of checking the condition of the brakes; and Andreani MHS Öhlins adjusted the suspensions. To top it all off, Shad’s technical baggage advice was provided. But not everything ended in the Village, en route the registrants enjoyed a mobile cleaning and screen care service offered by Shoei at the Ripoll crossing control, and were able to check lubricants and grease chains in Camprodon thanks to Motorex. Given the length of the route and the high temperatures, Aigua de Vilajuïga provided table water in the beautiful bay of El Port de la Selva, and Poma de Girona helped to regain strength in Sant Hilari to be able to make the last stretch of the route.

In addition, the 2021 edition was the epicenter of a major action by Kawasaki Europe, which chose the Crom Ride to celebrate the first edition of the Versys Experience, an international event that allowed nearly 30 journalists from throughout Europe to treasure the experience aboard new models of the Kawasaki Versys 1000.

On Saturday morning, more than 750 motorbikes warmed up their engines in the Fontajau Pavilion to enjoy an outing made up of different recommended stages that covered such emblematic roads as Els Àngels, Sant Pere de Rodes, Maçanet de Cabrenys, Coll d ‘Ares, la Collada de Toses, Osor or Collsaplana. The Crom Ride led to the discovery of the territory through landscapes as beautiful as the Cerdanya valleys and the historic enclaves of Ripollès. Sant Hilari Sacalm, in the heart of Les Guilleries, was the last checkpoint to reach Girona via the Pantà de Susqueda and the Les Serres rally section. The collaboration of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona Tourism Board made it possible to install checkpoints in emblematic locations in the province, resulting in a round and unforgettable day.

To culminate a fantastic weekend, all the finishers, riders and companions, received a well-deserved gift: a thermal t-shirt courtesy of Tecnimoto and Crom Ride.

The final response of the Crom Ride Girona collected among all participants was definitely positive: it is an event not to be missed. The 2022 edition is underway!
